ahojte,

dnes sa mi podarilo nadabit na irc na ochotneho cloviecika s prezyvkou
chusslove, ktory mi jednak vysvetlil zopar veci ohladne migracie
prekladov z KDE3.x.x na KDE4 a druhak aj sam preklady zmergoval a
commitol. statistiku by sme mali vidiet zajtra na
http://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/trunk-kde4/sk/index.php pre kompletne
preklady to vraj byva okolo 80 %.

z rozhovoru som vybral par zaujimavosti.

That is a bit of a sore spot.
The POT extraction and merging works normally, as for KDE3, but...
The options for translators to validate new POs before committing are
currently a bit limited.
If you used to use check_po_files, that one is still not ported, so it
is not usable for KDE4 POs.
Likewise, KBabel and Catalog Manager have some issues with new POs.

well, honestly i only used msgfmt --statistics for pre-commit checking

That one still works  and should be used.

can you tell how much are the existing translations recyclable?

chusslove:
For teams that had full translation for KDE3, now have some 15.000
fuzzy/untranslated messages for KDE4.
That's about 80% recyclable...

i wonder why the KDE3 -> KDE4 transition process is not fully automated

We were lazy
It's a one-off process, so nobody bothered to have it fully automatic...
