To je riesenie fakt na tvrdo....
skus to takto
chod do adresara /etc/X11/fs a v nom si nastav polozku catalogue tak, aby 
fonty ISO8859-2 boli na zaciatku. U mna to vyzera nejak takto:

catalogue = /usr/share/fonts/ISO8859-2/misc:unscaled,
        /usr/share/fonts/ISO8859-2/75dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/share/fonts/ISO8859-2/Type1,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/mdk:unscaled,
        /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1,
        /usr/share/abisuite/AbiSuite/fonts,
        /usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives,
        /usr/share/fonts/ttf/western
