Skusil niekto kompilovat OO pre debian?? podarilo sa to niekomu?

pre istotu sa spytam: 
ma vobec vyznam kompilovat vlastny OO? 
mozem ocakavat nejake vyrazne zrychlenie?
(mam taky pocit, ze v1.0.x bezala o cosi rychlejsie ako 1.1.x)
(instalnovany OO z .deb balika sa sprava podla mojho nazoru dost
tazkopadne, preto xcem kompilovat; HW: Celeron 1GHz, 250MB RAM, skusane
na viacerych wm: blackbox, ickle, gnome, kde)
