Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University and Red Hat Czech announce
a presentation of Mr. Ulrich Drepper - Wednesday 12 September at 13:00 -
Botanicka 68a, lecture room D1.


The presentation will cover the following topics.
1) What Every Programmer Should Know About Memory
   - defensive programming, vulnerability cases, memory
     handling problems, preventing overflows, correct
     filesystem use, debugging techniques
2) Developments in parallelism, how programmers have to adapt,
   co-processors, etc.
   - Advanced talk about parallelism and co-processors - "Lousy
     programmers won't see their programs become faster and
     faster just by sitting on the a..es. They now actually
     have to work for this"

Ulrich Drepper is the current lead contributor and maintainer
of GNU's C standard library, the GNU C Library. He is
participating in the development of the POSIX standard and
was also one of the leaders of 86open. Drepper currently
works at Red Hat Inc as Consultant Engineer.
