L.S.,

For those who do not know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is
Jeroen van Disseldorp. I am writing this mail as the project manager of
a project for the European Commission's IDA unit, which is setting up
an Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) portal on their website. You
can find IDA online at:

http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/ida/

The website we are creating will serve as a reference and knowledge
management site on FLOSS activities in Europe. It is planned to
be unveiled during the eGovOS 3 conference in Paris at the end of
November. See http://www.egovos.org/nov-2003.

For this website we are looking for interesting FLOSS projects in
the public sector throughout different European countries, of which the
lessons learnt may benefit FLOSS initiatives in other countries.

Apart from doing research on the Internet, we are trying to get in
contact with people who we think might be able to give be useful hints
and material. Experience learns that Google still does not cover as
much as the collective minds of people.

We would be most grateful if you could point us to public sector
projects (or the people involved/related materials) in which FLOSS plays
or has played an important role.

Do not hesitate to ask me more about this request or any other questions
it may trigger.

Kind regards,
Jeroen mailto:jeroen.van.disseldorp na cgey.nl
